Case study · Michigan Works! Region 7B
A better website. A partnership that lasts.
Michigan Works! Region 7B helps people find employment opportunities, explore training programs, and connect with workforce resources. Employers also rely on the organization for hiring and workforce support.
We redesigned their website to make information easier to find and the system easier to manage. What started as a website redesign grew into a trusted partnership that’s continued over the years.

The challenge
A website that needed to work better for everyone.
Michigan Works! Region 7B serves several different audiences. Someone searching for a job, someone exploring training opportunities, and an employer looking for hiring resources all come to the website with different needs.
Their existing website was running on an aging WordPress theme with plugins that needed attention. The design was dated, navigation needed improvement, and making updates wasn’t as straightforward as it should have been.
The organization needed more than a fresh look. They needed a website that made it easier for visitors to find what they were looking for, while giving their team a more manageable system for keeping information current.
What we did
Designed for visitors. Built to be easier to manage.
We approached the redesign by first considering how people actually use the website.
Job seekers and employers needed clear paths to the services and resources relevant to them. We reorganized the content, improved navigation, and redesigned the experience around those different needs.
Behind the scenes, we rebuilt the website in WordPress with a more manageable editing experience. The goal was to give Region 7B a website their team could confidently maintain without needing a developer for routine content changes.
Three areas of focus
Clearer navigation
We organized information around what job seekers and employers need to accomplish, making important resources easier to find.
Easier content management
We improved the WordPress editing experience so staff could update pages, publish information, and manage content more easily.
A stronger technical foundation
We replaced the outdated website setup with an updated design and WordPress implementation built with usability, maintenance, and future changes in mind.
Beyond launch
The work earned a lasting partnership.
When we delivered the redesigned website, Region 7B’s team was trained and equipped to make everyday content updates independently.
But our relationship didn’t end there.
Region 7B later chose Contrast to handle ongoing website management, maintenance, and technical support. We’ve now worked together in an ongoing partnership for several years, helping the organization keep its website current as programs, services, and content change.
That includes ongoing WordPress maintenance, content and page updates, technical troubleshooting, and support when new needs arise.
For Region 7B, having Contrast involved means their team can focus on serving job seekers and employers while knowing they have a dependable partner handling the website work they’ve entrusted to us.
The result is more than a redesigned website. It’s an ongoing relationship built on trust, responsiveness, and delivering on our commitments.
